EMR Integration in Real Time Using Generic FHIR Client

(0 reviews)

Use Cases

FHIR is rapidly being accepted as the de facto healthcare interoperability standard. An increasing number of healthcare systems are exposing FHIR endpoints to interoperate with other systems. The new Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) data sources are also focussing on the FHIR standard.

A FHIR server can support a subset of capabilities, such as FHIR resource types, services, search parameters, and operations.

The capabilities exposed by the FHIR Server Integration app is published through API endpoints and metadata. In the response, a capability statement highlights the capabilities, such as FHIR resources, interactions, and search parameters supported by the FHIR Server Integration app.

The FHIR Server Integration app uses the commonly used OAuth 2.0 protocol to gain access to the FHIR APIs.The OAuth 2.0 protocol is based on client credentials and JWT.
